Even though the past is complete and can never be replayed, the negative impressions (or the meaning of an experience) can linger in the deeper parts of your mind.
If we look at the brain as a highly changeable machine, like computer software that can be adapted and updated, then let’s turn off annoying apps or shut down outdated programs so you can experience more well-being and a positive outcomes.
And because much of what the brain pushes upward in the form of thought and emotion can be tied to something that happened in the past, we will update your deeper brain with the good news: That stuff isn’t happening anymore!
